Cooking Update

Chef Rol and Day have been busy and lazy lately to update this blog. But I made time now, hehe, because I know that our amazing mouth-watering recipe images deserve a space in the web.

Rol cooked the Hawaiian Steak again last weekend. We both agreed that that's our #1 dish that we can always cook for our guests. I don't want to give myself any credit for it, because I hardly do anything when he does the marinade and grill the steak. I just follow him every where asking him for things he might need or sometimes assist him in caramelizing the white onions. I will then put the plates on the table, and wait for him to come and serve the thick-ass steaks.

Some people who have tasted it have been asking Rol what makes up the marinade cuz obviously grilling would be easy and google-able, but the marinade (even if you google it, you have to come up with your own measurement and secret ingredients or what not to make it your own)...and well, obviously he won't give it but he'd gladly prepare it for someone who needs it (yeah, without you looking).

So far, we haven't come up with a new dish to cook yet....like the Panda Wings which we did so perfectly together (ahem!), but maybe soon. I have been cooking almost every workday of Rol, even if they look picture-perfect (in my opinion) and taste wonderful, some do not taste as good as I expect them to be (my palate has high standards)...sorry for that, errr...and besides they're all Pinoy dishes. Oh sh|t, I have one Korean dish I did that I really liked, too bad I forgot to take a picture. Maybe next time.

Rol's Hawaiian Rib Eye Steak

Rol and I celebrated our third monthsary (is this even a word in webster) at Houston's Steakhouse in Pasadena, CA and the hawaiian steak that I ordered was so unforgettable because we both agreed that was the best steak we've both had....so besides asking the waiter for what's in it (we should have asked the chef, but they won't give it of course) we did our own google search and the recipe we found is the closest we can get to how Houston's steak taste.

You be the judge! If you're lucky enough to be our guest, ROL will do it for you!! Lol
